This weekend I've finally been dragged from the comfort of
my bed to our place in Barmouth which I haven’t been able to visit since
January. I'm sorry this post is so much later than planned; after we finally arrived
on Friday (when I planned to post this!) I took a turn for the worse and
unfortunately was really unwell again, probably due to all these ridiculous
tablets I'm on! But I'm finally feeling a bit more upbeat and have found a bit
of much needed energy to complete this post. Anyway enough about me moaning on!
This post is based on what any fashion enthusiast HAS to pack on a weekend away.
Magazines are a must! And I am an absolute hoarder for
keeping my magazines for years. As a textile student I always seem to believe
they’re going to come in handy one way or another through mood boards or even
showing how fashion trends seem to grow and come back in different ways every
year. I managed to stash away my personal favourites to bring with me to keep
me busy, Vogue, Cosmo, Company and Look, and it’s good I did after having the
weather we've had! To say I'm obsessed with fashion and buying clothes would be
an understatement. Magazines are just a small way to fill my fashion head with inspiration
while I'm not able venture into clothing stores.
Next on my list is my black reporter notebook. This is extremely important
to me at the moment for a few reasons! Firstly, I'm trying train my left hand
to draw and write after I've lost all sense of use in my right arm so at the
moment it’s like I'm a small child again, and I have to tell you it is
extremely difficult! Secondly, I am trying to get a small use out of my right
arm at the moment so I think if I keep trying to write, the use is going to
come back to me sooner after I've had surgery. Lastly, I'm always jotting down
my thoughts and ideas. As a student again where I look focus hard on textiles
and fashion it’s always important for me to see what’s new and innovative in
the design world.
Keeping up with technology is a must for us bloggers,
firstly to keep up with Twitter and Instagram which is necessary I've found as
a blogger and obviously to blog! My musts are all my i’s! My iPhone (obviously!),
iPad, iPod and also my necessary items to blog, my laptop and camera which I
wasn't able to photograph as I was obviously taking the photographs with it!
A book is always a must for me when I get into bed a night
and at the moment I'm tending to read study guides rather than my usual fiction
crime book! This book was a gift off my sister in hospital as they all know how
fashion mad I am! Fashion Design Course: Principles, Practice and Techniques:
The Ultimate Guide For Aspiring Fashion Designers by Thames & Hudson. This
book has been a God-send! It’s the ultimate guide for all the necessary tips on
designing, mood boards and also shows relevant interviews with top fashion
professors and designers giving you an eye into the fashion world.
Finally, my beautiful Fossil watch! This was another gift in
hospital off my sister (she tends to spoil me!) and I do love it. Being white
it is perfect for this season and perfect for me personally due to my love of
black and white clothing, so it tends to look great with everything!
I've written a fair bit today to make up for my lateness so
I hope you've found it interesting, if not the slightest helpful! I do have to
say though bringing all this does mean I do not pack lightly so I may try and
do a lighter packed version for foreign holidays, especially since us ladies
struggle enough with our suitcase limits!
