Working Wonders.

11.10.14

So this week I had the daunting task of electing a truly perfect outfit for the always excruciating daunting, job interview. We've all been there, we spend the night before tearing our wardrobe to pieces, extracting sharp dresses, slick shirts and smart coats & jackets. Lets face it my wardrobe is the place to hunt, after all it does foremost consist of the mandatory colour paletteblack, white and grey! Even so I was still left in a state of tears deciding as the usual girl does, I have nothing to wear; nothing fits and that's it, I'm never leaving my room ever again. After the overreacting surpassed I resorted to Tesco where I'm always surprised by what I can find!
This interview is especially important to me, it's my first interview since my crash and although I'm not 100%, I'm determined to get back to feeling slightly more 'normal'. As you know I'm currently deferred from University studying textiles and my passion for fashion is what I hope to explore and pursue in the future. I'll let you know a little more about the interview later on...

I was relieved yet happily surprised to come across this fitted dress in Tesco's. In my opinion a dress needs to be stylish, yet comfortable and most importantly smart for a job interview; the perfect combination. Black and grey columns combined with the complimenting waistband create the perfect shape; most likely inspired by Stella McCartney's clever cutting illusion dresses. Through creating the perfect contour this dress would suit a range of shapes & sizes. Furthermore, being cut calf length creates a slimline silhouette with the pencil skirt. A new personal favourite of mine for the smartest of occasions.

Grey Wool Coat_

Price: £69.99_
eBay: £13.99_

My favourite, favourite coat! This is the epitome of a classic Winter coat, one which will last a lifetime and forever look stylish
My first ever blog post was set around this coat as it had to be cut up during my car accident, that was more of a tragedy! I'm only joking but I was quite gutted! This left me a task to complete from my hospital bed which was to hunt down this coat and eventually I found one off eBay for a bargain price! I should have looked there first! But, I'm extremely happy to have it hanging in my wardrobe
Paired with the dress, the contrasting greys combined wonderfully. The cut was also perfect. I previously tried the dress on with a long length duster but the shape and fit of this wool wonder suited spectacularly.

Black T-Bar Strap Pumps_

It had to be flats for me with my excruciating back at the moment, and boy am I glad I did! We were sent running around the store with a time limit searching for clothes!
I always keep a certain pair of black smart shoes for certain occasions such as job interviews as you need to look clean, polished and chic. I usually opt for round flat pumps but I've really fallen for the pointed style this season, which you will see crop up in my next post! I also love the t-bar design but I do have one downfall and that is that these shoes absolutely KILL! Paired with black tights my perfect interview outfit was formed.

To top it off clearly the outfit worked as I got the job
Clearly I must have done something else right also but out of a huge number of applicants I'm ecstatic!!
