.: The Winter Staple.

I love, love, love researching, hunting and purchasing the new seasons must haves, especially for Autumn/Winter. Transitioning from your Summer wardrobe to Winter is easy, you don't need to spend a fortune, you just need the basic pieces.

For example, last Summer pastels were huge and that perfect colour palette is continuing in a diverse update to the next season. The beginning of last season I brought a gorgeous mohair fitted pastel pink coat that can now be worn all year round. The point with us, students especially, is pieces need to be versatile, keeping spending to a minimum, trust me, I know how difficult it is. My next post will be focusing primarily on a range of those basics which you need. But for me, the most important staple?

A perfect pair of boots.

Ankle boots are a major footwear player. They're not only a Winter style essentioal, but the ultimate transeasonal fashion piece to inject something cool into the simplest of outfits.

It was love at first sight, honestly. There a range of reasons these to me are the perfect pair (and many other bloggers agree!). After I'd posted these on Instagram straight after they were newly advertised on ASOS, there were a number of people then posting about purchasing.

Perfection?

1. Leather

Being leather these are the type of boots that will last you years, even outlast yourself! Remember, keep them in tip top condition, so get back to the school days of keeping them polished!

2. Ankle Length

There are a range of boot lengths to opt for in Winter but the ankle boot will never retire. Although over-the-knee boots are fabulously stylish right now, they won't last.

3. Pointed Toe

The pointed toe to me creates a smart, stylish and new dimension to ankle boots. For me they look seriously sleek & chic. Not to mention they are huge this season!

4. Patent Snake Print

Who can say no? The opposing texture and print really sets the boot off.

5. Zip

One thing I'm sure you can agree with me on is the struggle of a tight ankle boot without a zip. Stretchy or not I have a Topshop pair which I have to sit on the edge of me bed and haul them onto my feet, breaking my fingers in the process. Not only that, the back of the boots can take a bit of a battering, so that's a no no!

6. Heel

Even with such a small bit of height, every bit makes the difference lengthening our legs.
