I'm finally on the road to recovery and gladly don't have to wear an arm brace, I obviously have dressings over the wound, but I can now fit into normal clothes! So the hunt for the dress was on!
You may have read in my previous post I am attending the Races for mine and my boyfriends 21st birthdays as one of our parties.
So like any girl, I need a dress, well let's be honest an entire new outfit!
I have two options at the moment, I am probably one of the most indecisive individuals, so outside views are dually noted.
Mango Minimal Shift Dress_
Price: £39.99_
Colour: Pink_
I've never been a huge lover of Mango just because I've always known them as being slightly out of my price range. But pushing the boat out for a dress I thought I'd take a look, and was actually happily surprised!
As soon as I walked into the Bullring store on the left hand side were rows of absolutely stunning minimalist pastel clothes, I must have taken ten items with me to try on! This dress stood out to me immediately. I've never been a huge lover of pink but this season I've adorned myself with beautiful pink tops, dresses and even coats.
I'm a changed woman.
I loved the dress as soon as I tried it on and there was a beautiful long length woollen coat that would have looked gorgeous with it, but that would have caused me to dig a little too deep into my pockets.
As a shift dress it's a very flattering shape on me personally. Anyone who doesn't feel comfortable or likes the idea of a body-con dress this is definitely the shape for you. Classy and elegant at the same time, perfect for a race day.
ASOS Shift Dress In Texture with Pockets_
ASOS Price: £45.00_
eBay Price: £16.95 inc postage_
ASOS was my go-to choice for dresses straight away. With their huge range there is a dress that will suit and delight anyones needs.
White isn't the best colour for me for the reasons I am extremely clumsy and do seem to get marks on my clothes from the middle of nowhere. Secondly, I'm extremely pale so can look a little washed out, so a little tinted moisturiser may be in dire need!
As you can see I've actually priced the dress from eBay, and that is where I actually purchased the dress from, brand new. There are a lot of sellers on eBay that sell brand new items from high street stores such as Zara and Topshop and obviously ASOS for much smaller prices. So before you purchase from ASOS always do a little research on eBay. They usually sell a range of sizes so it's something you shouldn't miss out on!
Again as you can see (obviously!) it's another shift dress, but clearly a lot different in appearance. I love love love the texture on the dress and the working zip on the front creates a futuristic look. Wearing the dress it's extremely flattering. As it has a lining underneath you also don't need to worry about white being see through, the fabric is thick already and the lining just confirms that. The added advantage to lining is instead of the dress sticking to your sometimes unattractive 'wobbly bits' the lining should be quite firm and strict in hiding the areas you don't like as much. Furthermore, it's a wonderfully flattering length, just above the knee.
So I want to know off you which is more suitable for the races, so please comment!
