'Eye Spy'_ She Inside Review

26.6.14

The day the baby blue eye print dress came into Zara stores, I fell in love. I placed it into my basket thinking yes I have no money so I’ll be good and think about whether I should buy it overnight. Of course I woke up the next morning thinking I that’s it, I'm getting it and of course, it was sold out. So to anyone who has the Zara version I am extremely jealous!

Anyhow! Flicking through Instagram I saw a number of bloggers who clearly had ended up in the same predicament as me, even on eBay they were going for around £40.00/£50.00 when it was only £25.00 in store. But, I saw a range of them wearing the dress and tagging SheInside so I decided to take a look.
I'm never one to say no to a cheaper version!

I was a bit suspicious to say the least after scrolling through the SheInside website as everything was a little too cheap but I went for it and purchased the Zara copy eye print dress and also a Perspex clutch, which I will tell you a little about after! I was extremely excited to receive the dress if not a little apprehensive and to be honest after receiving the product it was clear straight away why it was so cheap. I have to be honest and comment on a few things that I am disappointed with about the dress so you can take it into consideration before buying a product from SheInside.

Firstly, the fabric was extremely thin and rough. It is very clear to see the fabric used is cheap, and I think you would agree a see through dress isn't a product that customers are going to be pleased with. Secondly, the way the dress has been cut into shape has been done extremely shabbily. There is no hem on the dress, which sometimes is acceptable but if the edges are going to be cut roughly, it is much more appropriate to hem them to produce a clean edge. Finally, the finish of the zip is not completed well at all, the zip doesn't reach then end of the dress and the stitching attaching the zip is not in any way sturdy.

I really don’t like to be critical of anything, but I really was disappointed in the product and they make it extremely difficult to be able to make a return. I'm not intending to put you off the website; I am just informing you of my view and would love to hear if you've had a similar experience!

On the other hand, on receiving the Perspex clutch I was a little happier. Although again you can tell it has been finished pretty cheaply through not having a fastening, this product is a little more ‘what it says on the tin’ and does work well as a clutch bag.

My outcome from this experience is just be careful ordering from foreign websites and just bear in mind sometimes paying a bit more is the best way to go!

  1. Great review. Thanks for being honest. It looks cute, but I bet the whole see through thing isn't very appealing! :] // itsCarmen.com ☼
