High-Street Haul.

5.5.14

I’d had a shopping trip planned with my mom and sister for quite a while and after a few really dreadful days this week, I managed to drag myself out of the house in search of a few fabulous buys.

Marks and Spencer_

Bra shopping was the initial point of the trip and for the most beautiful and comfortable lingerie Marks & Spencer is always my go-to store. Although for me personally their pieces can be slightly expensive for a student; you do get what you pay for in buying their products. It is important to get measured for your bra and can make a huge difference wearing one well-fitted, especially if you’re bigger on the bust! I have to say although I usually relate Marks & Spencer to my mother (no offence!!), they had some beautiful clothes, especially their perfect pastels in their Per Una & Autograph collections. I managed to narrow it down to a lovely polo-neck textured crop jumper. At £35.00 I probably wouldn't have brought it myself, but I was very lucky as my mom treated me to a charming present.

Zara_

Next on the hit-list was Zara and I’m constantly trawling through their website drooling at their new items constantly brought into stores. Shopping with my mom she attempts to distract me from my usual black and white beauties, introducing a bit of brightness into my life, and this time it worked. This pale orange/peach pretty is a perfect summer staple. The shape of the top is perfect for my shape and flows beautifully and will look wonderful paired with white jeans and sandals on a hot day out. Also, my second aim today was to purchase trousers as I have so many tops I don’t know what to do with myself, so I was on the hunt. When buying jeans now I always go for super-soft high waisted ranges as they’re softer, wear wonderfully and also wash better. Zara’s softer range is wonderful so I picked myself a pair of their bleached skinny jeans in light blue. In trying them on they fit well but do looked better turned up for the contrast of colours

River Island_

River Island had some tempting pieces in store and I finally got my hands on the white and black one-piece swimsuit shown in my previous blog post.

Primark_

Last of all Primark which has really outdone itself this season. There is no denying this is a go-to store for many high-street shoppers for their trend-topping clothing at outstandingly cheap prices and yesterday was no different. I picked up a basic white swing vest and black over-sized crop t-shirt both for a bargain £2.00 each; you can never have too many basics! I always buy mens t-shirts in XL to wear as dresses over tights and I do love a baseball jersey and Primark had luckily combined the two and created an oversized Baseball jersey dress which will look great over tights paired with Converse. Midi skirts have been a huge hit this season and I have been hunting Primarks in my area down for their gingham circle midi. I've been umming and arring about gingham jeans for a while after seeing blogger after blogger post about them. I am a huge Topshop fan and their Joni jeans are my personal favourite for best fitting jeans, but I am very happy with Primarks high wasted super soft version, I also really couldn't turn them down after seeing the price of them also. I do have to admit they are slightly long for me at 5’6 as I would've preferred them fitting as ankle grazers but they do look great turned up. White jeans have also been a huge summer hit and I decided to go with Primarks’ jeggings. I have to say I am quite a hater of jeggings as some can look cheap, tacky and are basically fabric with fake jean stitching on them. On the other hand, these Primark ones feel like jeans but I am not 100% happy with the fit, I would have preferred them to fit slightly higher and again I have to turn up the leg but at £7.99 who could say no? I think with these I am going to rip the knees on this pair, so I will be making a DIY blog post soon to show you how, and in the meantime I think I’m going to have to treat myself to Topshop’s Joni jeans in white!

Let me know what you think of my purchases and also where you've been buying white jeans from! My only problem with buying Topshop Joni jeans at the minute is I've been told they're slightly see-through! Let me know your thoughts and my next post will be up soon!
