Missguided Mania_Pastel Colours_Part One

21.4.14

I've been trying to open up the doors of my wardrobe to Summer colours instead of continuing my constant love for black (and sometimes white) clothing. Missguided have been unstoppable this season and if I could own every piece of clothing on their site, trust me I would. Although Summer is coming I'm very self concious around the certain area of my stomach as many others are self concious about their own body parts, so that's one area I choose to cover up and try my hardest to flatter. Through many of my posts now I will try to show you what can flatter similar people to me that actually find it very difficult to find great fitting clothes. Although in every high street store sizes range from six to sixteen; not everything suits every body shape and this is what I've come to realise dressing myself and styling my friends. I will be doing three posts on Missguided about their perfect pastel collection and the 'little black dress', also explaining on how it flatters where I feel self concious.

Nova Scuba Boxy Dress_Lilac_£19.99

Novva Suba Boxy Dress_Baby Blue_£19.99

These two dresses are the same obviously just differing in colour due to me not being able to pick between both beautiful colours. With the fabric being a scuba material it hangs off the body very well not hugging to any part of the body, so for anyone uncomfortable about their hips or stomach this just hangs from the shoulders as a wonderful shift dress. The length is halfway down the thigh so it is a perfect length as a fit of a mini dress on me personally at five foot six. Also the t-shirt sleeves which fall just before the elbow are comfortable and different to the usual sleeveless or strappy summer dress. These length sleeves are great for those also who are concious about the arms or shoulders. For the summer this will be suitable for both night and day; dressed up with heels, a clutch and a decorative necklace and during the day with summer sandals and a casual choker.

Umbelina Cream Textured Cami Top_White_£9.99
I am a big fan of texture obviously being a textiles student and this subtle piece is a wonderful summer top. Camis are great for many reasons, such as dressed over my favourite high waisted jeans, tucked in or over denim shorts, tucked into a midi length skirt and even in my 'Mom' jeans. Camis are versatile for the reason they're fabulous on a hot day in the beaming sun but during the cooler evenings look great under a denim jacket, kimono or spring pastel coat. Contrasting to the 'usual' cami, the shape of this particular one is a wonderful halterneck and also is longer than most reaching down to the thigh.

Nimesa Faux Leather Strappy Swing Dress_White_£24.99
This swing dress is a particular favourite of mine and I cant wait to wear it out on a hot summer night. I saw this first on a blog in the pastel pink colour and it did take me a while to decide on which I was going to allow myself to purchase. This swing dress is completely my style due to the shape just flowing over the body. Not only this leather is always an exciting and daring fabric to wear and also a bit different for me. Contrasting to the usual tight wearing leather this is a wonderful mini dress this isn't going to stick to you making you sweat. Contrasting to the tough leather look, the spaghetti straps give it a delicate edge.

Corinne Value Crossover Split Mini Skirt_Baby Pink_£6.49
I am personally not much of a 'mini skirt' fan but when I saw this pastel beauty for such a cheap price it would have been wrong not to put it in my basket. The skirt is very simple which I like most about it; the small crossover on the corner adds an interesting delicate touch. The skirt is extremely comfortable and short!! But I can just about get away with it and with a pair of tanned legs on holiday this will definitely be one of my prime pieces under a baggy t-shirt and sandals or even paired with tights, a cropped jumper and cut out boots on a cooler day!

Missguided Mania_Pastel Colours_Part Two will be uploaded soon!
