I haven't blogged for so long and I feel like I've completely lost my mojo! But, please forgive me! I recently returned to Loughborough University in February after having to undertake a year of absence due to my car accident. Getting back into doing hours of drawing and textiles has proved a lot harder than anticipated, so for the past two months work has had to be a priority and unfortunately my poor blog has sat on the back burner. Thank the Lord we broke up for Easter on Friday and I have a month to take a breather and of course, blog!

The reinvention of the flat has arrived and its bigger, better and pointier (is that a word?) than ever and I love it. The clocks have just gone forward and finally Christmas is looking like a distant memory; Spring/Summer is upon us and as much as I love my boots, the flats are being purchased and on those rare sunny days I'm beginning to rock them with skinny jeans & smart trousers.
Mules are a big part of the Summer 70's style revival and these Forever 21 flat pointed mules really are sensational. A complete new take on the regular flat and I am welcoming them with open arms. Black flats are necessities and a range including these are the way of keeping an outfit casual or smartening it up for work. If like me you're slightly nervous on tackling the 70's trend such as me, begin with accessories. Certain trends don't suit everyone and for me not being the 'skinny gal' the seventies isn't particularly my favourite sense of style. Although I am loving the flares!
Metallics are a must. rose gold & silver were huge last year and the combination of silver and pointed flats is the recipe of dreams. If the rose gold were available I probably would have gone with those, but as expected they were sold out so I opted for the silver, and I'm more than happy. If you're like me and live in black, a way to inject colour into your outfit is accessories and shoes. Wearing colour usually is based around confidence and until you can fulfil that confidence in loving yourself and what you wear, start small, stylish and sensational!
