So it's my 21st birthday Tuesday 9th September; I can't decide whether I'm looking forward to it or not but I am looking forward to the festivities! It's also my boyfriends 21st birthday Monday 8th September (conveniently), so we're having a joint birthday party this Saturday with family & friends and also a day at the horse races on Wednesday with friends.
So it's going to be a busy few days!
I've had a pretty treacherous last week which is why I've been pretty quiet.
If you've previously read my blog you'll know I had surgery on my arm just over three weeks ago and last Thursday my arm ballooned and I was in absolute agony. I was suffering from sickness, migraines and temperatures so immediately went to the doctors Friday morning. The doctors sent me straight to our nearest hospital where I spent the next horrific seven hours, I'm not even exaggerating. Since the crash as I've mentioned no-one can get blood out of me, so after five juniors were scared off after trying repeatedly, two seniors had to attempt the same small job. Finally, three hours after I arrived, they managed to get blood. I was then left to sit around (as usual), attend x-rays and the outcome was unfortunately I have an infection in my arm. This could be due to a number reasons, just my bad luck being one of them! Anyhow, I was put on another 18 tablets a day which added my overall total to 29 tablets. Taking 10 for breakfast isn't fun either, espeically with anti-biotics, I've been on serious sickness overload, which then led me to more tablets, anti-sickness! I'm hoping after being on the anti-biotics for a week tomorrow the infection will be cleaning up so I can feel a little better for Saturday.
Obviously I can't drink, but as they say the party goes on.
I will just be getting everyone drunk on my behalf!
Enough whining, back to fashion.
I have spent the last few evenings hoarding online clothing stores such as Missguided, Boohoo, Topshop, River Island and New Look, you name it, searching for a pair of sandals suitable for the races.
I began looking for a white pair of heels and then common sense hit me, it's September, it's definitely going to rain, which leads to mud, which leads to now brown shoes.
Pretty much a waste of money to put it bluntly!
As I mentioned in a post featuring my grey New Look sandals, it would be an understatement that they are NOT comfortable. For me preferably the heel needs to be a little thicker for comfort and I cannot be risking falling on my ass in a white coat and I guess I also shouldn't risk falling on my back...
The block heel is perfect and for anyone else in the same position struggling with the thinner heel, they are ten times easier to walk in. I decided to opt for minimal as they can be worn with a huge range and would be perfect with my birthday dress Saturday and for the races Wednesday!
As this style of shoe is carrying through to the next season they are fabulous dressed up with dresses/skirts or down with jeans or shorts. And on top of that at £19.99 for a pair that you will wear the hell out of, who can say no?!

This then leads me to the conundrum of picking a dress for Saturday. Yes they look extremely similar, but I tend to disagree.
A wrap dress for me is a great style personally as I'm heavy on top. I am able to show a little cleavage with the V-Neck but the silhouette then cinches you in at the waist and drapes over the hips, a dreaded area!
I'm going for a longer sleeve due to my arm looking, lets say, pretty rank at the moment so I don't really want that out at the moment.
Yes they're both black, I love black and I'm sticking to it!
