Dainty Details in Dorothys.

19.5.14

Well, I have to say I don’t usually find myself in Dorothy Perkins and I have to admit the visit was a surprising success.

Quick catch up with you beforehand!

On Friday I found out more bad news (not a surprise to me anymore!) that I'm not able to have surgery on my severely broken arm until July, which ends up putting me out of action until around October. So as you can imagine that was pretty heart wrenching having to hear.
The weekend then began to slowly get worse and I have been feeling absolutely dreadful which makes it troubling to keep up to date with my blog, so I'm not able to post as many as I’d like to, but I am trying! But, after more advice from the hospital I'm feeling slightly better in myself.

So, about the clothes! As usual shopping was the weekends plan for a bit of well-deserved retail therapy. I'm now on the hunt to find tops my arm brace fits into for the summer and I have to admit, it’s extremely difficult as it’s so bulky (and unattractive)!
As soon as I walked into the store I was taken aback by their beautiful Spring/Summer collection. There was a huge range of stunning pastels ranging from shirts, skirts, culottes & coats.

Blue Collar Trim Top

The duck egg blue blouse was my first find and it was the beautiful decorative collar which stood out to me at first. The colour is always one I go for as it’s a wonderful tranquil shade and the hand-sewn decoration looks gorgeous and gives it a completely different edge.

The fabric is perfect for the fact it flows over your body making it wearable for all body shapes and is ideally light for the hot summer months.

Not only this, my arm manages to fit through the arm hole!

Textured Stripe Shell Top
Black & White

After finding the sleeveless top is a type my arm is able to fit through I continued on looking and of course was drawn to my usual monochrome palette.
I have to say I really do love this top.

The texture created through using the range of layers of black and white is unique in the way it’s not just a boring striped top. Being the box shape as I previously mentioned in my last posts tips; is perfect for me as it doesn't hug your body, just lies above your hips, but the construction is perfection.

White Zip Crossbody

I've been struggling to carry a bag at the moment while having a useless right arm and the left is busy guiding me on my crutch.
I usually use my black classic handbag but I was in dire need of a small bag I could fling over my shoulder and as usual went for white, which I have to say is better than black for me, so it is slightly summery!

It’s perfect for the next few months and goes with pretty much all of my pastel combination outfits!

I've seen advertisements for Dorothy Perkins new range, ‘All About Rose Collection’ and I can’t wait for it to drop into stores as it looks absolutely stunning, so I’ll keep you informed when it does!
