One Step At A Time.

30.4.14

I had mentioned in my first post I had begun blogging after returning home and recovering from my accident. From my previous posts as you've potentially seen I haven’t been able to post outfit inspirations so I thought I'd give you a bit of background as to why. In February I was in a car accident driving to Aberystwyth where I collided with an oncoming vehicle. In the crash I unfortunately broke my back, ribs and my right arm, which as I'm sure you can imagine isn't great! Currently I have to wear a back and arm brace for support and I wanted to show you a few photographs so you are able to get a bit of an idea as to why I'm not dressed in my best at the moment!

While I'm slowly recovering after two back operations (which has left me half a metal spine!) I will also be having surgery on my right arm in a few months. By the end I am going to be a bionic woman! The worst thing about it is that it is my right arm which I draw and sew with. I am hoping to return to University next January but as I study Textiles: Innovation & Design I desperately need a working right arm. I'm really hoping I'll be able to continue as normal next year and complete my degree in a few years.

Dressing well while wearing both braces is extremely difficult. This has made me realize how the clothing retailers don’t cater to people suffering in braces and wheelchairs, a lot of people still want to look fashionable like myself! I am hoping as I slowly improve I will be able to include outfit posts for inspiration who are suffering similar situations. I had to show my clutch from Zara to show this post on Instagram as I absolutely adore it and it's now there to remind me not to get stressed about the small things in life.

Hope this has inspired you a little and I will hopefully continue to improve taking it 'one step at a time'. I have to say wearing the braces and walking with a crutch hasn't slowed me down from shopping so I will always be buying clothes to show you! I would love to hear off you in you're in a similar situation and interested in talking fashion!
